After completing his Phd in Philosophy, Ferdinand Auhser started the project Hör zu, Bakabu – Kinderlieder zur sprachlichen Frühförderung (Listen, Bakabu – children’s songs for early linguistic support) with the composers Arthur Lauber and Manfred Schweng. He created the earworm Bakabu for this collaboration, and has written all the Bakabu books since then. In 2016 Ferdinand founded the Vermes Publishing house by whom all Bakabu books, audiobooks & songs, and everything else that Bakabu comes up with, are released.
A brief description of the activities to date
Bakabu, the earworm, is a new children’s character. He was born out of a project for early linguistic support through music. Over 350,000 children are already learning German in a playful and fun way with the Bakabu songs.
Bakabu is already a real star in Germany, and even more so in Austria. The thrilling adventures of Bakabu and his cranky friends in Singeland are now published on a regular basis.
