Auxilia – from the Latin auxiliar for “to aid” – is located in Park Slope, Brooklyn, home to a large German and Austrian expat community.
Services include individual and corporate tax services and preparation, accounting and bookkeeping, QuickBooks set up and training, and entity formation consultation. The company utilizes the latest digital technology and works as a business partner in many capacities, from consultant to outsourced accounting department.
CPA and founder Christa Skoupy is a native of Vienna, and has lived and worked in the U.S. for two decades. Her long list of German, Austrian and Swiss clients — both corporate and individual — appreciate Christa’s ability to both speak their language and navigate them through the intricacies of the US tax code while having foreign exposure.
Christa is often in close communication with her clients’ financial advisers or parent companies, located in Austria, Germany and throughout Europe. She provides reporting, accounting and tax consultation on a regular basis, while communicating fluently in both German and English. She works closely with members of the German American Chamber of Commerce and the US Austrian Chamber of Commerce.
Christa has a master’s degree in economics and had worked for a number of accounting firms in Europe and the US, including Arthur Andersen and Ernst & Young. She received her Certified Public Accountant, CPA, credential in the US and is licensed in NY.
Christa feels that having a CPA on your side who speaks your language and knows your culture keeps clients from getting “lost in translation.”
